At Borderline700 (operated by Boonline), we value your privacy. This Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, the legal bases we rely on (GDPR), and the choices and rights you have. By using our website or registering for the Borderline700 race, you agree to this Policy.
2) What we collect
- Identity & contact: name, email address, country of residence, gender, phone number.
- Account & registration: emergency contact, nationality, optional medical/dietary notes, team/teammate details (for Pair entries).
- Payment: processed securely via Shopify or connected payment providers (we do not store full card details).
- Race data: GPS tracker location and timing data, checkpoint stamps, classification results.
- Usage data & cookies: IP address, device/browser info, pages viewed, interactions (see Cookies).
Public race information: To operate live tracking and results, we may publicly display your name, country, gender, rider number, live position/track and race status on the start list, tracking map, leaderboard and results. Contact us before the event if you seek limitations; note that live tracking is essential for safety and sport integrity.
3) Why and how we use your data (legal bases)
- Provide the race & website: manage entries, communicate, timing/tracking, safety — Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract) and Art. 6(1)(f) (legitimate interests).
- Safety & fraud prevention: detect abuse, secure systems — Art. 6(1)(f).
- Communications: race updates, newsletters you opted into, race manual, route/GPX — Art. 6(1)(b)/(f); marketing where required by law based on consent Art. 6(1)(a).
- Legal obligations: tax, accounting, regulatory — Art. 6(1)(c).
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4) Third-party services
We use trusted processors who only receive data necessary to perform their services, such as:
- Shopify (site hosting / checkout / payments)
- Race tracking provider (GPS devices, live map & leaderboard)
- Email / newsletter services (transactional and update emails)
- Secure cloud & analytics
Each provider is contractually bound to protect your data and only process it under our instructions.
