These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all participants (“riders”) entering the Borderline700 self-supported ultracycling race, organized by Boonline (“the Organizer”). By purchasing a race entry or participating in the event, you agree to these Terms.

1) Event Overview

  • Event name: Borderline700 — Roubaix Edition

  • Format: Self-supported ultracycling race (±700 km, ±3,000 m elevation gain)

  • Start/Finish: Gouda, The Netherlands

  • Bike check: Friday, September 18, 2026 at 07:30 - 09:30

  • Start date/time: Friday, September 18, 2026 at 10:00

  • Finish cut-off: Sunday, September 20, 2026 at 22:00 (60 hours)

2) Entry & Registration

  • Registration is available online via the official website (borderline700.com).

  • Entries are personal and non-transferable unless explicitly approved in writing by the Organizer.

  • Each rider must create a personal account, provide all required details, and agree to these Terms before purchase.

  • Pair entries: Both riders must register. The Organizer does not match individual riders into pairs.

3) Fees & Refunds

  • Entry fees are published on the website and may vary depending on the entry phase (Priority, Early Bird, or Regular).

  • Refund Policy: A €100 refund is available for cancellations received on or before July 31, 2026. After this date, no refunds will be issued due to upfront event costs and logistics.

  • Riders are strongly advised to take out private travel/event cancellation insurance.

4) Race Format & Rules

  • Self-Support: This is a self-supported race. Riders are fully responsible for their own navigation, food, repairs, and logistics. Outside assistance from third parties (friends, family, or support vehicles) is strictly prohibited.

  • Check-in: All riders must attend the mandatory bike and gear check before the start.

  • Route: Riders must follow the official fixed GPX route provided by the Organizer.

  • Safety: Riders must obey local traffic laws. Helmets, functioning front/rear lights, and reflective gear for night riding are mandatory. Full requirements are listed in the Race Manual.

  • Failure to comply with rules may result in time penalties or disqualification.

5) Pairs Category

  • Both riders in a pair must start, pass all checkpoints, and finish together to be classified.

  • If one rider withdraws, the remaining rider may continue but will be moved to the 'Solo' classification (non-competitive/finisher only).

6) Tracking & Timing

  • Riders will be equipped with a GPS tracker provided by the Organizer.

  • Live tracking data is publicly visible for safety and transparency.

  • Replacement Fee: If a tracker is lost, stolen, or returned damaged, a fee of €150,- will be charged to the rider.

7) Liability & Risk

  • Participation is entirely at your own risk.

  • The Organizer is not liable for accidents, injuries, theft, loss, or damage to equipment.

  • Insurance: Each rider must have valid personal insurance covering medical expenses, emergency rescue, and third-party liability in The Netherlands, Belgium, and France.

8) Changes & Force Majeure

  • The Organizer reserves the right to modify the route or postpone the event in case of force majeure (extreme weather, safety issues, or government restrictions).

  • In such cases, the Organizer will strive to provide alternative options or partial credit.

9) Media & Data Use

  • By registering, you consent to the use of your name, nationality, and any photos/videos taken during the event for promotional and communication purposes.

10) Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by Dutch law. Any disputes shall be subject to the competent court in The Netherlands.
